Korean idol group SHINee has topped Thai music charts with their hit
single "Ring Ding Dong" for three consecutive weeks, according to their
agency on Wednesday.
"Ring", the title track from their mini-album "2009, Year Of Us", was
ranked at No. 1 in album sales and on television music charts for the
third week, SM Entertainment said in a press release.
The song has been topping music channel Channel V's "Countdown Asian
Chart" since the first week of December. "Countdown" is a weekly music
chart which ranks songs by the number of viewers' requests it has
received.
"Ring" also sold the most albums in the country, according to weekly
albums sales chart "Gram Asian Pop Top 10" which is released by Thai's
record store franchise Gramophone. This is the third week SHINee has
been named the top-selling artist.
The five-member pop group enjoyed a successful comeback this year with
their third mini-album "2009" which was released in late October. They
have had several other K-pop hits, including their debut single "Older
Girl, You're So Pretty" and "Juliette" earlier this year.
The group is scheduled to make several television appearances this
week, including the year-end episode of KBS music show "Music Bank" on
December 25. They will be performing their new single "JoJo" as well as
"Ring".
