Satellite TV broadcaster WOWOW will broadcast the Grammy and Academy
Awards live on Feb 9 and 23 respectively. At a press conference to
announce the broadcasts, actor Masahiro Motogi, 34, whose film
“Okuribito” is nominated for best foreign film at the Oscars, and
musician SoulJa whose song is featured on the album “Amazing” nominated
in the reggae section of the Grammy Awards, were on hand. Actress Rinko
Kichi showed up, too, as a special guest.
Motogi said, “I will
definitely be excited during the ceremony. I hope I don’t forget to do
up my fly. If we win the Academy Award, I will for sure faint on the
stage.”
Kikuchi, who was a 2007 Academy Award nominee, advised
Motogi: “You should go to the toilet before the ceremony starts because
the red carpet is so long. And be patient to answer the same questions
from reporters.”
