A close insider says that Bellizzi has confided to friends that Mel is the baby daddy, but does not want the news to go public.

“Laura’s being as secretive as she can be about it,” the insider told Star. “But she’s really showing now, and people are beginning to ask the question: ‘Who’s the daddy?’”

The well-placed source says that Laura is more than four months pregnant, and indeed, photographs, exclusively obtained by Star, show the Orange County based mom-to-be with a visible baby bump.

Bellizzi, who appeared on VH1’s Secrets of Aspen in 2010, dated Mel during the summer and the couple were last seen together at the Mondrian hotel’s Skybar in West Hollywood on June 15.

Sharif says Mel got violent, calling him “vile and offensive names” and threatening him with physical harm if he didn’t skip town.
Sharif alleges Mel stormed out of the bakery and got into his car. Sharif says he left the premises moments later, and Mel “accelerated the car to a high rate of speed” and drove the car directly at him while multitasking by giving him the finger! Sharif says he jumped out of the way… narrowly escaping his fate as Costa Rican roadkill.
But a witness tells TMZ it’s all hogwash. He says Mel was trying to enjoy a “sweet pastry” and a cup of coffee, when Sharif walked in the bakery and tried to confront him.

Warner Bros. is joining forces with Mel Gibson to develop a movie about the Jewish hero Judah Maccabee, and Basic Instinct screenwriter Joe Eszterhas has come aboard to write the screenplay. Gibson will produce through his Icon Productions and will decide whether he’ll act in or direct the film once the script is completed.
Although Gibson was accused of anti-Semitism by a number of Jewish leaders when he released The Passion of the Christ in 2004, he’s wanted to tackle a movie about Maccabee for more than a decade. Maccabbee, considered one of the great warriors in Jewish history, led a popular revolt against he Seleucid king Antiochus IV, seizing Jerusalem and reconsecrating the Temple, an event remembered by the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

It's been FIVE YEARS since Mel Gibson's infamous 2006 DUI arrest -- and sources close to the actor tell TMZ, he's been off the sauce ever since ... and celebrated the sobriety milestone with friends last week.

Mel was arrested on July 28, 2006 -- and from that day forward ... we're told he hasn't taken a sip of booze.

Mel and some buddies commemorated the occasion last Friday -- and the actor is telling friends ... even though it's been a rough couple years, he's ultimately grateful for his arrest that fateful night.

Women everywhere rejoice: Mel Gibson is back on the singles scene. He relaxed at the Mondrian's Skybar in West Hollywood with a bevy of female friends Wednesday night. He was tucked away in the VIP hut with the group celebrating the launch of Deborah Cloyed's book, "The Summer We Came to Life." Gibson, who's working on a screen comeback, may be trying to give romance another go after his messy breakup, punctuated by his recorded ranting phone calls, with Oksana Grigorieva. Spies say he was "very flirty."

WEINER: Were people angry at you about what you said on tapes?
GIBSON: I was angry at me.  But, no one expressed any anger at me.  They may have felt it.
WEINER: Do you feel regret over what you said on the tapes?
GIBSON:  Of course.
WEINER: After the tapes ended up on line, many people asked themselves how could someone who’s been around this long and knows the business managed to get into a position where so much of their private life ended up on line? Did you ever think that those private conversations would eventually get out? 
GIBSON: [Looks at the ceiling and shakes his head and sighs] Who anticipates being recorded?  Who anticipates that?   Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?
WEINER: People didn’t understand how you could say the things you did on these tapes.  They wondered, what kind of person says those things.  Right now, many people think you’re a racist and that you hate women from listening to those tapes.
GIBSON: I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality — period. I don’t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited.  You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship. It’s one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life.

“He’s so incredibly loving and sensitive, he really is. He is the most loved actor I have ever worked with on a movie. And he’s not saintly, and he’s got a big mouth, and he’ll do gross things your nephew would do. But I knew the minute I met him that I would love him the rest of my life.”

“I know him in a very complex way. He’s a real person; he’s not a cardboard cutout. I know that he has troubles, and when you love somebody you don’t just walk away from them when they are struggling.”

“We talked about it all the way through, about what was going on in his life. I don’t think he told me until it was something he couldn’t handle by himself.”

“God, I love that man. The performance he gave in this movie, I will always be grateful for. He brought a lifetime of pain to the character that we’ve been talking about for years, that I knew was part of his psyche and who he is. It’s part of him that is beautiful and that I want people to know, too. I can’t ever regret that.”
