While the divorce agreement between Katy Perry and Russell Brand appeared to be quick and amicable, I hear there was a bit of tension until Brand gave in and agreed to everything Perry wanted. The big deal: The singer gets to keep all of the estimated $44 million she made during the couple's marriage — half of which Brand could have claimed under California's community property laws. Apparently, there was some bad Brand behavior — which I hear included both financial and personal issues — that he didn't want to surface if there had been a protracted divorce battle.

Russell Brand has flown to Los Angeles for an ­emotional meeting with wife Katy Perry, the first since their split. The couple have agreed to see each other one last time to discuss details of their separation. But sources close to singer Katy, 27, say she has not yet given up on her 14-month marriage to the ­British film star and comedian.

"He has agreed to meet her one last time. He wants to sort things out and finalise the divorce," said the pal. "Removal trucks have been moving his things out of the house they lived in and into a new place that Russell is renting. He needed to be in LA for the Globes too, so it was an ideal opportunity to meet. He is determined to move on. But Katy says she is still in love with him and she still has hopes they might get back together."

Russell Brand is notorious for his once-wild lifestyle and attempts to change his bad boy ways. But according to a report in the newest issue of Us Weekly, Brand allegedly wasn’t able to kick all of his bad habits.

“Katy was kinky enough during their first times together and he was very attracted to her,” a source claimed.

“He likes dirty things. He really gets off on one particular porno with a guy in a wheelchair. He’s attracted to things he can’t imagine happening to him. (And) he has a closet full of sex toys.”

A happy looking Katy Perry celebrated New Year's Eve by partying with friends and flirting with a mystery man at Soho House in West Hollywood. The superstar didn't let husband Russell Brand’s divorce filing stop her from celebrating, and she spent the night dancing and laughing with friends.

One spy told Page Six, "Katy was in a private room with a group and she seemed to be in a great mood. She spent most of the night dancing and laughing with friends. One wouldn’t have ever even known that her husband had just filed for divorce. At one point, she was talking to a guy with long hair down to his shoulders in the hallway. They were talking for a while. She was smiling and leaning up against wall. After midnight Katy and a male friend got on the dance floor, twirling each other around and dancing holding hands. She looked like she was having a great time."

Our sources tell us … because of the friction and their schedules, they never spent long periods of time with each other.
One big bone of contention … Russell was much more of a homebody than Katy. Katy loved going out and partying, while Russell (who is sober) didn’t enjoy the scene at all. We’re told he would often insist on leaving places early and asking her to come with … which would trigger an argument.

We’re told both Katy and Russell were on board with the divorce a few weeks ago — but they didn’t want to be in town when the papers were filed … so he went back to England and she booked it to Hawaii.
Since Katy’s parents are evangelical Christians, we’re told she didn’t want to be the one to “officially” end the marriage by filing the docs … since she was raised to believe divorce is wrong.

A year after their fairy-tale wedding in India, it seems Katy Perry and Russell Brand won’t be living happily ever after.
Brand, 36, filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences.
“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage,” he said in a statement to PEOPLE. “I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

After planning to whisk her family via private jet to husband Brand’s London hometown for the holidays, Perry, changed course, opting to fly to Hawaii with friends.
“They had a massive fight. She was like, ‘F–k you. I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, f–k you too.’”
Which explains why, come Dec. 25, (Perry) was seen in Kauai — sans wedding ring. Meanwhile, Brand, was in a pub in chilly Coverack, Cornwall.
“They haven’t split up just yet, but things are not good,” says the first source. “The fighting is getting worse.”
